Cairde na hEaragaile CLG is recruiting Field Operatives to join our existing team in Northwest Donegal, particularly in the Dunlewey and Glenveagh area.

Tá ár bhfoireann ag obair ar rialú speiceas ionrach, cothabháil cosán agus athchóiriú portaigh. Tríd an obair seo, táimid ag tabhairt aire don tírdhreach agus ag cruthú fostaíochta sa cheantar. Faoi láthair, táimid ag tabhairt faoi chonarthaí do LIFE IP Wild Atlantic Nature, don tSeirbhís Páirceanna Náisiúnta agus Fiadhúlra (NPWS) agus d’fheirmeoirí áitiúla.

Our team delivers invasive species control, path maintenance and bog restoration, helping to care for the landscape while creating local employment. We are currently delivering contracts for LIFE IP Wild Atlantic Nature, the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) and local farmers.

About the work

Working as part of our team, you will assist with:

• Rialú speiceas ionrach / Invasive species control, particularly the removal and control of rhododendron.

• Cothabháil cosán / Path maintenance, including work on the Errigal Mountain path.

• Athchóiriú portaigh / Bog restoration, helping to restore and protect local bog habitats.

The work is practical and physically demanding, often taking place on uneven ground and in varying weather conditions.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for reliable, motivated people who enjoy working outdoors, work well as part of a team and are willing to learn. Candidates should be able to undertake physical outdoor work in upland terrain, follow instructions and work safely, with care for the surrounding environment.

Relevant experience and qualifications, including chainsaw certificates and a valid Safe Pass, are desirable. If you meet the other requirements but do not yet have these qualifications, we still encourage you to apply. Training will be provided to suitable candidates.
